Polysil Thermal

Polysil Thermal makes it possible to increase the emissivity of surfaces and increase heat dissipation.

The suitably functionalized Polysil allows to increase the emissivity of the coating, further functionalization with graphene also allows to increase the surface thermal conductivity.

Finely dispersed graphene in Polysil’s silicon nanostructures makes it possible to greatly improve heat transfer by surface irradiation and conduction, increasing the thermal performance of the substrate.

Some tests on electronic devices and aluminum electric motors have shown a reduction of the operating temperature of up to 20% in static conditions, over the entire surface, thanks to the increase in surface conductivity and emissivity of the surface.

Polysil Thermal increases thermal dissipation

In real operating conditions regarding an aluminum frame containing power electronics, the test data, at 25 ° C ambient temperature, confirmed a decrease in temperature from 60 ° C to 55 ° C, with the consequent possibility of reducing the cooling surface (hence the weight). The application on electric motors with aluminum case confirmed the reduction of the temperature up to 15 ° C (from 100 ° C to 85 ° C).

Furthermore, the anti-corrosive and anti-dirt properties of Polysil have made it possible to eliminate the passivation of the case (elimination of galvanic treatments) and of the cooling fins on the external surface.
