Coating Design

Nanoprom specialises in the design of nanostructured silica coatings using the sol-gel process, which can be considered cold vitrification.

The high-tech Nanoprom product line is made from a basic component that is Polysil, a silica-based coating with a sol-gel process that is generally only a few microns thick, also referred to as ‘liquid glass’.

Over the years, various functionalization technologies have been developed, which have led the company to create high-emissivity coatings to increase heat exchange, as well as thermally insulating coatings that are resistant to high temperatures and ultralight, high-resistance coatings.

Research at Nanoprom has made it possible, thanks to the use of innovative materials such as graphene, to obtain extremely high-performance products.

As an example, we can mention two projects in progress which are related to a product for the glossy coating of aluminum without the need for galvanic baths with obvious benefits also on the environment; moreover, for some time we have been studying the processes of ceramization of silicon for the realization of a composite with carbon fibers in a ceramic matrix, which will allow the creation of components that can withstand very high temperatures, for aeronautical and aerospace applications.
